About Me

IMG_4062.jpeg

Hello, My name is Maggie Ashe. I am excited to show a little about myself through the three artifacts I have chosen to incorporate within my portfolio. The three paintings I have chosen reveal much about who I am as a person, student, and community member. These pieces, created over the past year, reflect my deep attention to detail and my resilience as an artist and student. I'm driven by a strong work ethic—I strive for perfection in everything I create, and this dedication shows in my artwork.

My Story

I am a sophomore at Uconn, going into elementary education. I transferred from Suffolk University in Boston, where I pursued graphic design as my major. Because of this, I have an extensive background in art and creativity. Coming to Uconn, I have been able to utilize my skills as a student and community member. Some key skills I am proud of that are highlighted in my artifacts are creativity, resilience, and attention to detail.

After college, I would like to become a teacher. I want to be able to engage in impactful work that allows me to contribute to both the community, and my classroom. I can see myself in a leadership position such as a teacher, use project management and communication to solve complex problems and drive positive change. Some ways I see the competencies and experiences I will have playing out; I think that I will become a good leader, and mentor and empower others. Others will desire to learn how to manage projects effectively, gain analytical insights, and be better at communication.

My personal mission statement would be a reflection of what I value in life, and what I aspire to be like. It would emphasize the importance of leading others, and the continuous growth and learning that is needed to be successful in life.
